Building mobile apps for user commerce (m-commerce)
From development of technology solution to realizing business transactions.
About The Organization
The client is a leading book publishing company based in New Delhi in India. It operates in the scientific, technical and medical books publishing and printing sphere and has a nationwide channel and marketing program.
Scope of Engagement
The client realized the significant potential for digital commerce and in expanding it’s business offerings and revenues. This led them to consider a mobile app solution to manage end to end e-commerce via a mobile book store.
Business requirements covered included building the building block solution components of the mobile and backend services - the book store catalogue for mobile view, mobile storefront, cart etc., payments process and despatch. And then the campaign design (from ideations to engagement/execution) for social media promotion of the product.
Solution (Technology & Services) Overview
The solution required creation of a mobile app and backend content system, integrations with other services and a simple payment interface for easy transactions.
We built and deployed this application over a couple of iterations and in a rapid agile development model. Logiquebrain designed, developed and deployed an end to end online digital m-commerce solution for this book publishing company and it was created using open platforms on the LAMP stack with frontends on Android and iOS.
Solution technology architecture was based on a Codeignitor framework, while the use of open source tools such as MySQL and Linux and Cloud provided a solid backend foundation which leveraged native iOS and Android solutions for frontends.
